Dr. Gino Strada, war surgeon and co-founder of the international NGO, EMERGENCY, was invited for a series of conferences at several U.S. universities in 2003 and thus, the idea of establishing an organization that would follow in the footsteps of EMERGENCY's mission statement in the United States was envisioned.

The objectives of EMERGENCY USA are to raise public awareness of EMERGENCY’s humanitarian activities across the globe and to serve as an inspirational, practical model to develop an active presence within U.S. civil society.

While raising awareness and helping to create a culture of peace and solidarity, we hope people across the country may consider to actively participate in supporting international humanitarian efforts in favor of aiding civilian victims of war and poverty.
